Securing Freedom in the Age of Connectivity: towards a deeper German-British partnership?

On 16 January 2020, the Dahrendorf Forum at LSE IDEAS, in collaboration with the European Institute, was delighted to host an event with Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (‘AKK’), Germany’s Minister of Defence and leader of the country’s governing party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

In her lecture, Ms Kramp-Karrenbauer discussed the prospects for the German-British relationship after Brexit.  She considered who best to address the pressing challenges of international security, environmental protection, and sustainable prosperity in the digital economy, while preserving our common heritage as Europeans.

The lecture was delivered in German with English translation and was chaired by Prof Eric Neumayer, the LSE’s Pro-Director for Faculty Development.
