The Dahrendorf Team at the Hertie School, in particular working group co-chair Dilek Kurban of the researcher group ‘Turkey and Europe’, is excited to welcome Esra Demir Gürsel as a Dahrendorf Visiting Fellow to the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
Esra holds a LL.M degree from Istanbul University and a MA degree from the University of Essex. She has worked as a legal scholar on public and human rights law in Turkey at Marmara University, where she also gained her PhD degree. She has recently had research stays at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Esra’s current research project examines to what extent the European Court of Human Rights provided sufficient and effective protection in cases of large-scale violations, with a focus on the cases against Turkey.
The Dahrendorf Forum team wishes a pleasant three-months stay and is looking forward to fruitful discussions, publications and workshops with Esra at the Hertie School.
