Publication: The European Parliament’s Diplomacy – a Tool for Projecting EU Power in Times of Crisis?

The Dahrendorf postdoctoral fellows Cristian Nitoiu and Monika Sus shed light on the way the European Parliament’s diplomacy affects EU power in their paper “The European Parliament’s Diplomacy – a Tool for Projecting EU Power in Times of Crisis? The Case of the Cox–Kwasniewski Mission”, published in the Journal of Common Market Studies.

The analysis focuses on the Cox–Kwasniewski mission that was sent to Ukrain by the Parliament in 2012–13. Based on interviews (including an interview with former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski) and existing literature, it discusses the genesis and the development of the mission and then evaluates its impact.
