From 12–15 September, Dahrendorf Forum Post-Doctoral Fellow Benjamin Martill and Research Associates Lisa ten Brinke and José Feio and participated in the 2018 Pan-European Conference in International Relations at the University of Economics (VŠE) in Prague. The conference, co-hosted by EISA and CEEISA, reflected the diverse nature of the International Relations field, including a wide variety of panels on European policy, politics and economics.
On Thursday, Benjamin Martill and Jose Feio presented their paper ‘Birds of a Feather? Europe’s Populist Parties on Brexit, Macron, and the Eurocrisis’ (forthcoming) at a panel on Popular Culture and Populism. Later in the conference, Benjamin Martill presented his paper on EU–UK security cooperation after Brexit, which he co-authored with Dahrendorf Forum Post-Doctoral Fellow Monika Sus as well as co-presenting a paper on toxic masculinity and the performance of Brexit.
The conference served as a productive platform to engage with other scholars of International Relations and European Studies and provided useful insights to improve the Dahrendorf Working Papers which are currently in process.
